India get third postion when it comes to female smoking, worst ever!

Few anti tobacco messages through which almost all us come across are — smoking kills you, smoking is injurious for your health, it can cause cancer and can cause harm to your family but who cares, just only few people. Everyone is fully aware of these facts but still it is mentioned on packets as precautionary measures.

It will kill anyone whether you are active or passive smoker but no one is ready to stop smoking and they even don’t think of getting rid of this bad habit. In reality there is no NON-SMOKER, as all of us in this world are forced to take in one or different kind of smoke passively like smoke from industries, vehicles and even the smoking human beings. Smokes from industries, vehicles, couldn’t be avoided and we don’t have any option to save us from that so at least we should keep in check smoking humans.

Government should bring law to ban these smoking products, but they are happy by asking makers to put an informative label on cigarette packets that smoking is injurious to health. Their responsibility ends here as they are allowing the sale of such products with a tagline, it’s now up to humans to take it or ignore it.

Well it really shocking that Indian women ranks third in the world when it comes to cig puffing. According to the recent reports of Tobacco Atlas, India gets third position among top 20 women smoking inhabitants round the world. Smoking is becoming popular among young college going and working women, its shows how tobacco industry is deepening its niche among Indian females. The problem is getting serious, strong steps should be taken to correct it.

According to several studies

Tobacco intake can reduce birth weight of the fetus, decrease their gestational age which may lead to premature delivery, increases the danger of still births and can raise the risk of anemia among pregnant women.

Our government is not also getting serious on anti-tobacco movements which would be mainly targeted at Indian females to arise and awaken them against the ill effects of smoking. Well, anyone who smoke should try to quit smoking as our future in our own hands and only we are going to cause harm to it, so better try to mend ourselves it before it gets too late.

Why do you think so. This is today’s generation, the more you would write, the more they will do these acts. So, dont criticise them, accept all the girls for what they are. We cannot change anyone. It is only self realisation which would lead them to quit smoking? So carry on girls, we boys have no issues. When men cannot stop smoking who are we boys to stop you all girls and women.

Ya you are absolutelly correct our population is one big reason in getting this rank. If we dont control our population and this smoking might we attain first position no doubt. But situation is really getting serious the number of female smokers increasing day by day. They just have fun in doing this act, dont think about its ill-effect. Everyone(except few) is fully aware of the problems they might have in future due to smoking but they dont think of qutting this bad habbit.

Why would they ban? They don't wanna lose the huge taxes they earn by these products.

Thatswat I meant, the main reason behind not putting ban on smoking products is huge taxes they are getting in return...

Ya ofcourse its harmful for all whether you are man or woman. Iam talking about female numbers here. India ranked third when it comes to women smoking, the more concern is this that we have huge number of female smokers in our country. Smoking can cause lot of health problems in us so we should try to avoid it or those who smoke should try to quit thinking of their better future. Females are carriers of our future generation, if they would smoke they are directly effecting themselves only.

The best way for women to quit smoking is, get married to a man who doesn't smoke. My friends did it and it works. Now they don't smoke at all.

Well really if it works then I must say, those who want to quit should opt for non-smokers as their partners

Dont try to be sarcastic,its not the progess,its downfall. Well number of female smokers in India are not more than males but when we see them globally they are third in rank,our population is one big reason behind getting this rank. On the whole its serious situation. Anyone can follow his/her heart but not cost of their life and health.

@Kalpana

Population should not be cited as cause for India’s rank.Nor it’s a typical male vs female equation.The rank is not indicative of our huge population but it’s indicative of women giving way to wrong lifestyle which treats cig puffing,visiting beer bars etc. as status symbol.

If number of female smokers is less than males then please do not give way to life style that makes women smokers greater in number than female smokers !!!
