Why should we allow the women to smoke? Does our culture permit us to do so?

It's against the principle of equality. Women have equal right to do what they want to.

It's really very interesting to note that while Indian judiciary is legalizing the homosexuality, there is one section of people which can't allow the women to smoke with them. Great conflict.

Well, anyone whether man or woman have rights to do what they want, it could be anything like dressing, eating choosing profession or smoking.Iam not saying that smoking is good thing and we should all smoke. But when there is no such rule that restrict them to smoke, when men can smoke on that spot why they were asked not to puff over there. This is gender descrimanation case thats it.

There are many other things going on for which our culture dont permit us. What you will say for that. Why women should not be allowed, its not crime, its a personal decision. And noone can badger women on this basis.

Anyone can do anything is this democratic country, its not that women are not allowed for this act. There is no such law that binds them not doing this. Its our society and its people who are not ready to accept women smoking.

Ya its against equlity, when we have all the equal rights as men have, why few people behave in such way, its just gender bais act on the part of worli police and few residents of that area. There is nothing wrong in women smoking, we should accept it, its all just personal choice what they want what they dont, so noone has rights to interfere.

If men can fag, why can’t women? I ain’t talking obt competing men, rather its obt d personal choice. If women don’t question men for smoking den pls DON’T put the culture/society dogma in front of us too!

All our lives, we have to struggle and provide our families and women, and even if the women work and earn. In case of a divorce, we have to shell out alimony and maintenance. In case of any natural disaster, it is the men who have to make way for women to be rescued. Punishment of women for the same crimes if less than men. Income tax rate is less for women. Is this equality of gender? How many women out here are ready to marry unemployed guys? How many women are ready to bear the primary financial responsibility of running a house? shall be passed, after a sum of Rs.16,00,000/- in total is paid by the
respondent to the petitioner in the following manner :-

1. Rs.5,00,000/- immediately.

2. Rs.4,00,000/- by the end of April, 2009.

3. Rs.7,00,000/- by 15th July, 2009.

It is stated that a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- is already in deposit with the Punjab
& Haryana High Court. That amount is permitted to be withdrawn by the
petitioner in terms of this Order. After the full amount is paid, the
proceedings relatable to F.I.R No.241 dated 10.11.2007 registered at P.S. Model
Town, Hoshiarpur shall stand quashed. The decree for divorce as noted above
shall be passed as a decree on the basis of mutual consent after the whole
amount is paid. The proceedings in respect of Petition No.2189 of 2007 pending
before the Family Court at Mumbai, Bandra shall be transferred to the Court of
District & Sessions Judge, Hoshiarpur, Punjab so that parties can file a
petition for dissolution of the marriage in terms of this order. The parties or
anyone of them indicating acknowledgment of the whole amount can bring this to
the notice of the concerned court so that necessary orders in that regard can be
passed.

What you talking about is different thing, legalizing that is in process, but smoking is not banned as homosexuality (earlier) was considered crime. It’s just that when men can lit anywhere why not women were allowed, it’s just a hypocrisy of few people that’s it.

Smoking is bad thing but still large numbers of people are smoking. But it’s really ridiculous that anyone can smoke at that location and no one objected them for this but fingers were pointed at women only. She was also having an affair with another guy. Now this woman earns more than 50000 per month because she is a software engineer and the guy earns 30000 being in the advertising. Yet, the courts have asked him to pay alimony. ISN’T THIS A SHOCKING WAY TO DISCRIMINATE MEN? Kalpana has no answer and is dodging.

Women’s empowerment and liberation, individual rights, liberalism, freedom (Read without responsibilities), western thoughts and ideologies, careerism, individualism, materialism, rationalism, etc. are the concepts that have been promoted in the last 60 years through the media and education system by the capitalists and corporates and we are seeing the results of that all around us. Whenever we are out on road, we use to see lot of people puffing here and there than how many of you have asked you to stop and dont smoke here as smoking in public areas is ban. Two days back, the Finance minister gave an extra exemption in IT for women. That means, men pay higher taxes than women just because the testosterone hormone is running in their blood. Whenever we are out on road, we use to see lot of people puffing here and there than how many of you have asked you to stop and dont smoke here as smoking in public areas is ban. We think they are doing according to their choice who we are to inturrupt them. Either make it completly ban for all smokers or allow anyone to follow his/her choice. why are men alone targetted under the DV act, alimony act, child custody act, adultery law, section 498A and so on? Why can’t women pay alimony and maintenance to men if we are an equal society?
